The Celts: Fact and Fiction

2 May 2019 9:30AM Town Hall, Grey Street, NSW, Australia.
A one-day symposium to learn more about the Celts with talks, poster exhibits and a photograph display with Q&A sessions and social 'Harmony' at the end of the evening.

Everyone is invited to participate in the second Celtic Symposium on May 2nd, 2019, to coincide with the Australian Celtic Festival in Glen Innes which, this year, celebrates Scotland.

We are looking for speakers to deliver presentations in this year's program - any aspect of broad appeal about the Celts, not just Scotland, is welcome including history, arts and religion. We welcome amateurs and professional historians - anyone who has something they want to share. So far we have received applications about the forests of Scotland, energy lines and Scottish history. The program will be confirmed in April but first in best dressed!!

We have also introduced a writing challenge with different criteria for various ages to complement displays and competitions for photographs and posters.

Please contact Symposium Organiser to discuss your contribution, get more details or free registration. We are keen to encourage participation by students and schools.

Entries are now open in four categories:

·         Spoken presentation - 30 minutes.

·         Writing - fiction, non-fiction and poetry - length varies for different age categories.

·         Poster presentation - to portray any aspects of Celtic study, including clan history.

·         Photographs - for display and competition.

A label should identify all Posters and Photographs for display at the Symposium; Written submissions will eligible for presentation during the Festival at a separate writer's forum.
